Eagle West Truck & Crane Inc. is pleased to announce that it has purchased Stampede Crane & Rigging Inc. in Calgary, Alberta . Eagle West will take ownership of the company on March 30, 2007. The general manager of Stampede Crane & Rigging Inc., Claude Chicoine, will report directly to Mr. Bob Fairbank the Chief Operating Officer of Eagle West.
Stampede Crane & Rigging Inc. was founded in 1996 by Dennis and Theresa Hockett. Dennis sold his interest in a large heavy hauling company, moved to Calgary from Edmonton, and started Stampede Crane. Through Dennis and Theresa's leadership and hard work they have grown the company from its humble beginnings to the number one supplier of cranes in the Calgary market. The fleet consists of 24 cranes ranging in size from 17 to 300 tons. (10 stiff booms from 17 - 40 tons and 14 hydraulic cranes from 65 - 300 tons) They are leaders in many industries including the erection of tower cranes, oil and gas plant refits, and the wind turbine industry in the Calgary and southern Alberta market. Stampede Crane has a devoted team of 30 non -union professionals that are committed to continued success within the Eagle West family.
Our strategy is to retain the company name, management, and hourly workforce. Dennis and Theresa will no longer be involved with the company when we take ownership. Dennis will be a great resource with his expertise in the wind turbine industry and will assist Eagle West in this growth market in B.C. We want to personally thank Dennis and Theresa for their time and attention to this purchase, and for the 11 years that they dedicated to Stampede Crane. They have much to be proud of.
