Russian oil giant takes 40 truck cranes

Russia's leading crane manufacturer Ivanovo Stamp has sold 40 units of newest truck cranes in a single deal worth 165 million Rubles (US$5.6 million).

The 25 ton capacity KS-54712 was launched during the CTT 2008 construction exhibition in Moscow by Autokran, part of the Ivanovo Stamp organisation.

It has a four-section boom, which the company says has the same workability as a 32ton capacity model. It was the first crane in Russia to have a hydraulically elevated cab.

This latest bulk order came from Russia's fifth largest oil producer SurgutNefteGaz during the Surgut Oil and Gas 2009 exhibition. Surgut is known as the oil capital of Russia and is based in the mid-west of the country.

The oil and gas industry is an important customer of the 25ton truck crane - one of the most common capacities in Russia. "The participation of Ivanovo stamp at the exhibition is regular, since clients include the leading enterprises in natural gas. This year, as in previous years, Ivanovo stamp supplies a large amount of equipment to this region."
