The new Caterpillar 904H compact wheel loader provides a combination of power, versatility and operator amenities. With 52 net horsepower (39 kilowatts) and an operating weight of 9,900 pounds (4490 kilograms), the 904H replaces the popular 904B.
The 904H features a new engine, new axles, articulated steering, two-speed hydrostatic drive, powerful Z-bar loader linkage, universal coupler (compatible with skid-steer-loader work tools), new operator's station, and fresh styling -including a new hood, counterweight and non-metallic fenders.
Designed for reduced exhaust emissions, the 904H uses the turbocharged Tier 4 MHI S4Q2 diesel engine. The engine has a maximum hydraulic lift capacity of 7,464 pounds and powers a closed loop, single path hydrostatic transmission that works in combination with a frame-mounted gear box and mechanical axles. The axles provide more ground clearance and can be equipped with optional locking differentials.
